Here’s Ron email from last year:
Greetings Glen,
Just got of the phone with Mary the President of the branch and she’s all for accommodating us for the event and as a venue for our meetings when needed.
This is what I know for now, but 1st go to http://rcl344.com/index.html and open Banquet Facilities page off to your left to follow along.
The Air Show runs from Aug.30 > Sept. 1st. Live entertainment on the weekends and a jockey on Mon.; BBQ each day. A bus load of people from out of town arrive for each day – Sat. and Sun. The Patio can seat 150 people over looking the lake and is just off from the main dance hall called Memorial Hall on the ground floor.
The “Rifle Room” is like one of our Messes on the 2nd floor. The “London Station Room” is on the 3rd floor with a small pool table bar off to the left.
I asked if she could show you around so you could get a better lay of the land so to speak and together work out the arrangements for our needs when they arise.
This would be an option and a venue when we the Association can’t get the use of the Mess or a stewart to man it for our purposes.
Your last e-mail on this matter suggested using this get together at this legion for the Air Show as a social event as opposed to Exec. meeting.
How about a thank you gathering for all toughs that showed up for the Warrior’s Day Parade or a general meeting or a casual Exec. meeting out on the Patio?
Lots to consider short time to do it in.
Cheers,
Ron
